My first question is, where did December go? I haven't had much time to relax and enjoy the Christmas season..I am looking forward to some down time with my friends and family this weekend.
I've pretty much had wrapping up projects and children's gifts on my brain this week but here is what I did happen to catch!

1. Meghan and Harry are adorable. I am looking forward to seeing every wedding detail.
2. Meghan had The Percy tortoise glasses on in a recent photo, now they are on backorder for months. I may need these! I adore Meghan's simple, classic but updated style. 
3. I love authentic Mexican. I make tacos A LOT around here but need to up my game. This is on my late holiday wish list.

5. I love the unexpected freshness clementines bring to the holiday season. 
6. + 7.  Add a little sparkle to your holiday outfit this weekend! This blouse would pair nicely with these pants.

Shelter + Ace Hardware + A DIY

The piece before  Most of us LOVE a good before and after! I'm here to share a goodie with you today. Last week my assistant, Lindsey, (who rocks by the way) and I transformed her television credenza. The RH piece had good bones but she wanted to update and brighten her family room. We had the kids help out with the vignette part of the painting project. It was a fun way to spend a sunny, Thursday afternoon in October and the kids had a blast. The result? Well let's take a look. You can also see the entire process on Ace Hardware's Instagram account Here we all are painting, spraying and gilding pumpkins. Because, anything gilded looks better! I'm teaching Emerson the tricks of the trade early. She loved using Amy Howard at Home's lacquer finish gloss. (Honestly, this paint is amazing) Here I am styling the vignette. Reading nook

In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday today and the importance of reading to children, I celebrate the reading nook on Shelter! I've always wanted to carve out a cozy area in my home designated to this favorite past time. I used to read a ton before the invention of the i-phone. I need to get back to it!
