It is always exciting to be in the Press. Last weekend The Boston Globe shared a recent project that I completed in Boston. Thank you to my wonderful photographer Sarah and to Jaci Conry for the feature. Read more about this South End condo here . Gah!

The final few weeks of summer are sort of a shit show. Camp ends and the school year prep begins. Most of my clients' are usually crazy busy with end of summer hoopla too. My six and nine year old began school today and although a new year always marks a fresh start it also reminds me of how quickly the time goes (sniff, sniff). I am happy I spent some extra days with them this summer, but now I am looking forward to making waves this Fall with work!!! I'm kicking off the day with this BANANAS good home designed by David Netto and David Hottenroth in Southhampton. This beauty was far too large for a "cottage love" post but it's a beach house none the less. (imagine??) I thought it was a smart idea to squeeze in one last summer post. Cheers! xx  All images via Architectural Digest, Photos by: Pieter Estersohn

Crushing on....

As we usher in Fall, I find myself drawn to updated interiors with warm, rustic elements. This blend of old and new is approachable and comforting. Want to achieve this look? Try warm wood moments, worn rugs, brass and vintage lighting. Take a peek at this of the moment look... Did I just say, longer work days? I did. Thank god I love my job. Most of the items above are self explanatory but here are a few notes! - My daughter informed me she wants this entire outfit, purse and all for school!! - Those glitter sneakers are in my cart for Emmi. Mini-Boden is having a back to school sale!! - We've had great luck around here with Pottery Barn back packs and their turn around is fast! They are on sale too!!! - This field jacket is for all the Mommies who walk or wait in the cold getting their little ones to sch

Jenni Kayne with OKL

Image
With Fall quickly approaching I'm finding my thoughts shifting to cozy fires, warm neutrals and cooler, crisp mornings. I'm usually sad to see the summer go but I'm also ready for a change in pace and a routine for my children!! I'm kicking off the week with the sunny, bright, organic living room of fashion designer Jenni Kayne. She recently down sized from her Beverly Hills home (pictured below) and teamed up with One King's Lane to revamp her new living room. To purchase the look yourself visit OKL .   Check out Jenni's clothing line here .   And here is a glance at Jenni's Former Home. It just sold for a mere 12.9 million - gulp. Shelter Loves...

Good Morning! I had a very successful trip in Chicago with Ace Hardware but after a long week, there is nothing as relaxing as a peaceful Sunday morning. I even got to sleep in, which is a rare treat around here. I was really inspired by all this goodness last week: 1. This fabulous sugar scrub is a BC BEST seller. A few of my friends have been raving about it. I desperately need to exfoliate my and soften up my skin after a long hectic summer.... Order here .  2. Fall fashion is my favorite and not many do it better than Giovanna Battaglia. Her style is eclectic but always classic.  3. I usually wear one statement piece with an outfit. This chunky necklace would mix beautifully with a fall palette of caramel, cream and cocoa! 4. Fall is all about transitional pieces for warm or cool weather and layering. I would wear this classic t-shirt under a blazer. I was kicking myself for not having a sweater/jkt to wear at the convention center last week..Brrr I froze my butt off! 5. I'm c

Beautycounter love.....

I am so excited to share this news with you all!! As you know here at Shelter I have my own interior design firm and lifestyle blog. I love, love, love sharing creative ideas, interior design moments, gardening, purchases, my own home, fashion and finally beauty products with you! My blog and reading others has not only been a huge source of inspiration for me but proved to be very therapeutic during my painful divorce and an amazing learning experience. Living a healthy lifestyle is a very important part of my life and as most of you know, I have had some recent skin cancer scares that have resulted in surgery and now scars. Healthy skin and beauty products are a huge part of my daily routine, so I was thrilled when my dear friend Sarah introduced me to the Beautycounter brand a little over a year ago. I agree with their mission 100% and have decided to join the team as a consultant and spread the word about the importance of using healthy beauty products and makeup, not only for myse
